Mahamudra (Sanskrit for “The Great Seal”) is the central meditation system of the Tibetan Buddhist Kagyu transmission. It is a kind of summary of the entire Buddhist meditation path and provides a common thread for the entire meditation path from preparations to full awakening. In doing so, the Mahamudra approach particularly emphasizes trust in the qualities already within us, our “Buddha nature,” which naturally emerges when we inwardly let go.

Central components of Mahamudra instruction are teachings on the nature of mind, the Preparatory Exercises (Tibetan: Ngöndro), the actual meditation in the form of quiet abiding (Sanskrit: Shamata, Tibetan: Shine) and intuitive insight (sansktrit: Vipassana, Tibetan: Lhaktong), as well as the various stages of the path with its associated experiences, tasks and typical mistakes.

To the course

Lama Tilmann will continue by teaching the text Moonbeams of Mahamudra by Dagpo Tashi Namgyal. This is a significant and central text of the Mahamudra tradition, which Gendün Rinpoche recommended to us because it offers a comprehensive overview of the practice path with numerous references to the sutra and tantra teachings of Buddhism. Participation in the course is open to all who are interested and is independent of participation in previous courses.

The Mahamudra course is a silent course, meaning that we are silent in the meditation room. Conversations are possible outside.

Erklärung zum Ekayana Logo

Ekayana Institut Logo mit Tagline

Das ausführliche Ekayana-Logo besteht aus

  • der Bildmarke (Kreis) ,
  • der Wortmarke (Name) sowie
  • dem erläuternden Schriftzug (Tag Line).

Bildmarke
